Six Walsworth Yearbooks schools were among those chosen as winners of 2018 Yearbook Pacemaker awards from the National Scholastic Press Association (NSPA) during the awards ceremony Saturday at the JEA/NSPA Spring National High School Journalism Convention in Anaheim.
The 2018 Yearbook Pacemaker winners printed by Walsworth Yearbooks included:
- Hauberk, Shawnee Mission East High School, Prairie Village, Kansas
- Le Flambeau, Notre Dame de Sion High School, Kansas City, Missouri
- The Arena, Legacy High School, Mansfield, Texas
- The Lair, Shawnee Mission Northwest High School, Shawnee, Kansas
- The Lion, McKinney High School, McKinney, Texas
- The View, Timberview Middle School, Fort Worth, Texas
Three additional 2018 yearbooks printed by Walsworth were honored as Pacemaker Finalists, including:
- Apollo, Colonial Forge High School, Stafford, Virginia
- Odyssey, University High School, Orange City, Florida
- Wings, Arrowhead Christian Academy, Redlands, California
According to NSPA, teams of professionals judge the yearbooks using several criteria, including coverage and content, quality of writing and reporting, leadership, design, photography and graphics. The contest is open to any NSPA member publication.
