Shawnee Mission Northwest, Shawnee Mission North and Notre Dame de Sion each take first at Anaheim Best of Show
Ten Walsworth Yearbooks schools placed in the Best of Show contest this past weekend at the JEA/NSPA Spring National High School Journalism Convention in Anaheim, including three who placed first in their category.
Le Flambeau of Notre Dame de Sion in Kansas City, Missouri, finished first in the Yearbook 232 or fewer pages category. Hoofbeats from Burges High School in El Paso, Texas, placed third in 232 or fewer pages.
Indian from Shawnee Mission North High School in Overland Park, Kansas, finished first in the Yearbook 289-336 pages category. Arena from Legacy High School in Mansfield, Texas, placed second.
Lair from Shawnee Mission Northwest High School in Shawnee, Kansas, placed first in the Yearbook 337 or more pages category.
Four other Walsworth schools placed in the 337 or more pages category, including Hauberk from Shawnee Mission East High School in Prairie Village, Kansas (third); The Lion from McKinney High School in McKinney, Texas (seventh); Panther from H.B. Plant High School in Tampa, Florida (eighth); and Sword & Shield from Saugus High School in Santa Clarita, California (10th).
The View from Timberview Middle School in Fort Worth, Texas, placed eighth in the Junior High/Middle School Yearbook category.
The Best of Show competition is held at every national convention and recognizes overall excellence among the attendees and entries.
