16 Walsworth Yearbooks schools named 2019 NSPA Pacemaker Finalists
Sixteen 2019 yearbooks from Walsworth Yearbooks schools were among the high school and middle school books announced as 2019 Pacemaker Finalists by the National Scholastic Press Association (NSPA) today.
The following 2019 yearbooks printed by Walsworth were named as Pacemaker Finalists:
- Apollo, Colonial Forge High School – Stafford, Virginia
- The Ayrie, Liberty North High School – Liberty, Missouri
- Fusion, Hagerty High School – Oviedo, Florida
- Hauberk, Shawnee Mission East High School – Prairie Village, Kansas
- Hoofbeats, Burges High School – El Paso, Texas
- Lair, Shawnee Mission Northwest High School – Shawnee, Kansas
- Le Flambeau, Notre Dame de Sion High School – Kansas City, Missouri
- Legend, Boone High School – Orlando, Florida
- Legend, El Dorado High School – El Paso, Texas
- The Lion, McKinney High School – McKinney, Texas
- Munhinotu, Gresham High School – Gresham, Oregon
- Odyssey, University High School – Orange City, Florida
- Panther, H.B. Plant High School – Tampa, Florida
- Retrospect, Liberty Christian Academy – Lynchburg, Virginia
- The Round-Up, Woodland Junior High School – Fayetteville, Arkansas
In addition, the 2019 Oro from Cactus Canyon Junior High School in Apache Junction, Arizona, was also named a Pacemaker Finalist. Cactus Canyon is a new Walsworth Yearbooks school for the 2019-20 school year.
According to NSPA, teams of professionals judge the yearbooks using several criteria, including coverage and content, quality of writing and reporting, leadership, design, photography and graphics. The contest is open to any NSPA member publication.
Pacemaker award winners will be announced in April during the JEA/NSPA Spring National High School Journalism Convention in Nashville.
