Elizabeth Luna, NBCT, currently teaches Graphic Design at Wake Technical Community College. She is the former yearbook adviser at Athens Drive Magnet High School in North Carolina. Her students’ work earned consistent recognition at the state level over her fourteen years, including regular North Carolina Awards of Distinction and eight Tarheel Awards from the North Carolina Scholastic Press Association. In 2020, The Torch earned its first NSPA Pacemaker and, in 2022, they earned their first CSPA Gold Crown. In her 14-year career, she focused on graphic design as the building block of a solid yearbook, using her design background to engage students in conversations around successful design and photography. In 2024, she was recognized as Region 4 National Magnet Teacher of the Year for Magnet Schools of America.
