Le Flambeau, The Lion finish first in Chicago Best of Show
Fourteen Walsworth Yearbooks schools placed in the Best of Show contest this past weekend at the JEA/NSPA Fall National High School Journalism Convention in Chicago, including two who placed first in their category.
Le Flambeau of Notre Dame de Sion in Kansas City, Missouri, finished first in the Yearbook 232 or fewer pages category. The Lion of McKinney High School in McKinney, Texas, finished first in the Yearbook 337 or more pages category.
Other Walsworth schools to place in the 232 or Fewer pages category included: third place for The Tartan from Homestead High School in Mequon, Wisconsin; fourth place for The Clipper from Kearney High School in Kearney, Missouri; eighth place for The Archive from Richland Northeast High School in Columbia, South Carolina; and ninth place for The Minuteman from Lexington High School in Lexington, Nebraska.
Six Walsworth schools placed in the Yearbook 289-336 pages category. They included: a second place for The Arena from Legacy High School in Mansfield, Texas; third place for Indian from Shawnee Mission North High School in Overland Park, Kansas; fifth place for The Legend from El Dorado High School in El Paso, Texas; seventh place for Odyssey from University High School in Orange City, Florida; and eighth place for Legend from Boone High School in Orlando, Florida. Howelltonian from Francis Howell High School in St. Charles, Missouri, a new Walsworth customer for 2019, placed sixth.
Hauberk from Shawnee Mission East in Prairie Village, Kansas, placed second in Yearbook 337 or more pages. The Round-Up from Woodland Junior High School in Fayetteville, Arkansas, finished seventh in the Junior High/Middle School Yearbook category.
The Best of Show competition is held at every national convention and recognizes overall excellence among the attendees and entries.
