Nine Walsworth Yearbooks schools named 2015 NSPA Pacemaker winners
Nine Walsworth Yearbooks schools, including seven yearbooks printed by Walsworth, were among those chosen as winners of 2015 Yearbook Pacemaker awards from the National Scholastic Press Association (NSPA) this past weekend at the JEA/NSPA Spring National High School Journalism Convention in Los Angeles.
The 2015 Pacemaker winners printed by Walsworth Yearbooks included:
- Decamhian, Del Campo High School, Fair Oaks, California
- Fusion, Hagerty High School, Oviedo, Florida
- Hoofbeats, Burges High School, El Paso, Texas
- Legend, William R. Boone High School, Orlando, Florida
- The Lion, McKinney High School, McKinney, Texas
- The Scrapbook, Westfield Middle School, Westfield, Indiana
- Wings, Arrowhead Christian Academy, Redlands, California
Two additional yearbooks – Hauberk from Shawnee Mission East High School in Prairie Village and Indian from Shawnee Mission North High School in Overland Park, Kansas – were also 2015 Pacemaker winners. Both schools are Walsworth Yearbooks customers in 2016.
The winners were announced at the convention’s Saturday awards ceremony.
Six additional 2015 yearbooks printed by Walsworth were honored as Pacemaker Finalists, including Buffalo from Haltom High School in Haltom City, Texas; Excalibur from Robinson High School in Tampa, Florida; Lair from Shawnee Mission Northwest High School in Shawnee, Kansas; The Masterpiece from Bak Middle School of the Arts in West Palm Beach, Florida; Munhinotu from Gresham High School in Gresham, Oregon; and The Stampede from J.W. Mitchell High School in New Port Richey, Florida.
Each year, the Pacemaker Awards judge publications on writing/editing, design, content, concept, photography, art and graphics and are considered one of scholastic journalism’s highest national honors.
