It’s not easy creating a 400+-page yearbook and making every spread quality, even for a large staff like Shawnee Mission Northwest’s. But the 2017 Lair staff pulled off the trick well, appropriately using the theme “It’s All Good” for their book. The copy on the opening spreads matched the theme by being written in a casual, fun tone, recapping several events from the year. Lair’s coverage encompassed all the annual clubs and sports with unique spins for the current year. Highlights included a feature on pairs of senior-freshman siblings and a short profile of four students outlining their reasons why they didn’t fit traditional high school stereotypes.
