Everything about the 2018 Buffalo is fun and unique, starting with the distinct three-word theme phrase, “True. Really? Yeah!” which immediately conveyed the playfulness of this book right on the cover. The staff used vivid colors (pink, yellow, blue) and a number of graphics, including rectangles and patterns of dots, as repeating elements throughout the book. While the staff wasn’t afraid to tackle issues, such as students coping with stress, they emphasized light-hearted fare, such as a spread on 37 students in the school who all share the same last name.
