Theme Gallery

The 2018 Odyssey staff wanted a big and bold theme that would show their readers that in University High’s eighth year, they were no longer just a “new school.” They wanted to show off what made their school unique, and they wanted to do it in a flashy way. Along with a confident, in-your-face theme phrase, the staff used a variety of graphic touches for emphasis, such as hand-drawn doodles, scribbles, circles and arrows. The point was put simply in the opening copy, “Look, we know how it sounds, but we just can’t pretend to be something we’re not. And yeah, we’re proud of who we are.”
